Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Synapse Nursing (synapsenursing.com) you agree to these Terms of Use. Synapse Nursing is a product of Synapse Learning LLC. If you do not agree to these terms please do not use this platform.

2. Who Can Use This Platform

Synapse Nursing is intended for:

• Prelicensure nursing students
• NCLEX exam candidates
• Nursing educators and faculty with faculty access
• Institutional administrators

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use this platform. Synapse Nursing is built for adult learners; it is not directed to children and is not suitable for minors.

Access to paid features requires a subscription. Faculty and cohort access is arranged directly through your nursing program.

3. Coach Y — AI Tool Disclaimer

Coach Y is an AI-powered academic support and wellness coaching tool powered by Anthropic's Claude API. By using Coach Y you acknowledge that:

• Coach Y is not a licensed medical professional, clinician, nursing faculty member, financial advisor, or mental health counselor
• Coach Y does not replace your professors, academic advisor, clinical preceptor, or healthcare provider
• Coach Y can make mistakes — always verify responses with your faculty, textbooks, or qualified professionals
• Use of Coach Y does not guarantee passing the NCLEX exam or any other academic or clinical outcome
• Coach Y is a supplemental learning support tool only
• Coach Y is not a therapy or counseling service — its wellness features are educational self-care support, not mental-health treatment
• Coach Y identifies itself as an AI at the start of chat sessions and periodically during long sessions; if it ever seems human, it is not
• If you are experiencing a mental health crisis do not rely on Coach Y — call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), or reach out to a trusted mental health professional

4. Subscriptions, Cancellation & Refunds

• Synapse Nursing is a paid subscription service. Creating an account is free; access to Coach Y and gated study tools requires a Basic, Plus, or Premium subscription. There is no free trial.
• Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your profile via the secure Stripe billing portal.
• All sales are final. Subscriptions and product purchases are non-refundable. When you cancel, your access continues until the end of your current paid period (monthly or yearly), then stops.
• By purchasing, you confirm that you understand your purchase is non-refundable and that you can cancel anytime. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for full details.
• Institutional access is available through your program — ask your faculty for a cohort code.

5. Cohort Enrollment

• Students may join a faculty cohort by entering a cohort code on their profile page
• By joining a cohort you agree that your platform engagement data including Coach Y sessions, questions answered, and NCLEX practice scores will be visible to your assigned faculty member
• The content of your Coach Y conversations is never visible to faculty
• You may leave a cohort at any time from your profile page

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Share your invite code or account credentials with others
• Use the platform for any purpose other than nursing education and wellness support
• Attempt to manipulate, misuse, or reverse engineer Coach Y or any platform feature
• Use the platform to obtain medical diagnoses or treatment advice
• Submit false or misleading feedback or survey responses
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the platform
• Attempt to access another user's account or data

7. Daily Usage Limits

To ensure fair access, live Coach Y usage depends on your plan. The Plus plan includes 10 Coach Y messages per day, and the Premium plan includes 15 Coach Y messages per day (the first 5 from our most advanced AI model). The Basic plan does not include the live Coach Y AI tutor. These limits reset at midnight daily. Faculty and admin accounts are not subject to these limits.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of this platform is governed by our Privacy Policy at synapsenursing.com/privacy.html. By using this platform you agree to our data practices as described in that policy.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, platform features, Coach Y technology, and materials on Synapse Nursing are the intellectual property of Synapse Learning LLC. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any platform content without written permission from Synapse Learning LLC.

You keep ownership of anything you post in Community spaces and grant Synapse Learning LLC a non-exclusive license to display it on the platform. If you believe content on the platform infringes your copyright, send a notice (identifying the work and its location) through our contact form; we remove infringing content and terminate the access of repeat infringers.

10. Limitation of Liability

Synapse Nursing is provided as-is. Synapse Learning LLC is not liable for:

• Any academic outcomes, exam results, or clinical competency assessments
• Any decisions made based on Coach Y responses
• Any technical issues, service interruptions, or data loss
• Any third party content or services linked from the platform

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Synapse Learning LLC's total liability to any user for any claims arising from use of this platform shall not exceed the amount paid by that user to Synapse Learning LLC in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Synapse Learning LLC and its members, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising out of your violation of these terms, your misuse of the platform, or content you post in Community spaces.

12. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Any disputes arising from or related to your use of this platform or these Terms of Use shall be resolved through binding arbitration in the Commonwealth of Virginia under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You waive your right to participate in any class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Synapse Learning LLC. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Termination

Synapse Learning LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to any user who violates these terms, engages in misuse of the platform, or poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the platform.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms as the platform grows. We will notify registered users of any significant changes via email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia without regard to conflict of law provisions.

16. Contact
